OpenGL or software renderer, the graphics are pixellated, nearly identical. Changing resolutioni (fullscreen) from 1024x768 to very high, doesn't make much difference either.
I reinstalled the old DarkXL from 2011, and I get accelerated graphics and much better visuals with it. I must be doing something wrong or not doing something necessary, I think.
Anyway, congratulations for a release I've been waiting for years. Hope I can resolve the problem.

I agree to this to some extent. However I did notice some improvement with the graphics using the software setting instead of the OpenGL. I should be able to use OpenGL tho.

Hi
You Get only Accelerated FPS with Opengl/GPU , set in-Game to 2160p , The Graphics/Textures not yet , because like Texture Filtering etc. isn't not avialbe yet ! Yes i know , DarkXL had this on Point !

Hello.
What do you mean by pixelation? Do you mean the resolution? For example you set the resolution to 1920x1080 but still get a 320x200 image?
Or do you mean textures and sprites get blocky at close proximity? The pixelated, blocky look of walls and sprites is because of there is no bilinear filtering in the OpenGL renderer implemented yet. That dosn't mean OpenGL is not working, it does. There is just no bilinear filtering, just like in the original software renderer and the software renderer in TFE. Its simply the original vanilla look from the 1995 original DOS version.

Thanks very much for your answers! Is only at 2160p the game accelerated a silly joke maybe? No such effect seen.
Must say that a lesser capability than shown by the 2011 DarkXL version, kind of hurts the visibility of this very fine work: some will not bother further after trying it once now, not knowing the crucial progress pending.
No problem, will happily wait until the Opengl implementation eventually serves its only real purpose for being there: acceleration and no big pixellation aliasing.
Till then, best wishes to the devs and thanks again for a decades long dream coming true by your effort !

@dan55 The Modern Settings will comming in Future. Accelerated mean only , better FPS , try Software @2160p then you know it But all in one , the Compare to the Dos Version is like Day and Night , also without the DarkXL Graphic Features !

Ok, if you use the GPU Renderer can you look up and down? Does the resolution increase (edges become finer, can see things in the distance easier)? You should be able to change the virtual resolution to your monitor resolution. If software rendering works, OpenGL should work as well. Or is the issue that you want texture filtering? If that is the case, that will be added as an option later with true color options. It was not added up until now because the focus was on accuracy and core functionality rather than eye-candy. That said, playing at higher resolutions with the ability to look nearly straight up and down (depending on settings) should already be a big improvement over DosBox.

I'm pretty sure this is an issue with lack of true-color rendering options - which means it isn't a bug and the features are already in progress. So I'm going to close this.
