Hi, I just heard of and checked TFE Source Port for the first time. I'm trying to run it on a small old laptop with onboard graphics (Win1064, Intel i3 CPU M330@2.13 GHZ, 4GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650).
Everything seems to work perfectly out of the box in software mode, but with OpenGL rendering turned on I can only see my gun and the hud before a grey/black-ish screen. When I move around, the gun draws its shape as some glitchy lines into that grey/black screen.
I googled a bit and found something that sounded quite similar was a known problem that could happen with the XL Engine and was solved by turning off bloom in the menu.
But there is no option to turn off bloom in TFE menu or the ini unless I missed something.
Is there something I can do to check out the OpenGL mode on my system and make it work?

Thats strange. Maybe the Radeon HD 4650 ist not fully compatible with TFE.
You can not turn off bloom because there is no bloom implementet in TFE yet.
Thats my guess for now. I now its not much and certainly will not help you but wait for a response from lucius, he can give you more information for sure.

Ok, thanks a lot for looking up the information.
Yes, I had problems before because some old onboard ATI Radeons like mine have no vendor driver for Win10, just a Win10 native "replacement" driver. Dgvoodoo doesn't work on my system probably for that reason, too.
Seems there is another problem with it, now. Well, time for a new laptop...

Sadly , yes !
DgVoodoo will may Work , but it can't Wrap OpenGL to DX11 or 12 , only DDraw/DX1-9 to 11 or 12 , or Glide (3DFX Voodoo X)
Full Features from DGVoodoo2 Glide 2.11, Glide 2.45, Glide 3.1 and Glide 3.1 Napalm DirectX 1-7 (all versions of DirectDraw and Direct3D up to version 7) Direct3D 8.1 Direct3D 9
Here is an List for all Aviable Wrappers !
Funfact : 3DFX Voodoo2 on a Modern PC
You can also try this under Dosbox + Mouselook !
Cheers !

Sorry for your experience. TFE requires the full set of OpenGL 3.3 features for the GPU Renderer to function correctly. Unfortunately, you will most likely need to use the software renderer on your particular system. If you are having performance issues with the software renderer, turning down the virtual resolution will help. That said, the software renderer can also support higher resolutions, so you are not stuck at 320x200.
